GetButlr is operated by Black Pearl FZE LLC ("we," "our," or "us"), a company registered in Ajman, United Arab Emirates (License No. 262248759888). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to getbutlr.ai, GetButlr Studio, and the GetButlr Studio Companion Chrome extension.
When you create an account on getbutlr.ai, we collect your email address and password. Billing information is handled by Stripe and never touches our servers directly.
When you connect your YouTube channel, we receive your channel name and video/channel metrics that are needed to power the dashboard and optimisation tools. We do not access your Google password.
When you use the AI Optimize or Keyword Research features, you voluntarily submit video metadata (title, description, tags, thumbnail URL) to our servers for processing. We do not automatically upload content — this only happens when you explicitly click the feature button.
The GetButlr Chrome extension operates only on studio.youtube.com.
The extension reads video title, description, tags, thumbnail URL, and visible page context directly from the YouTube Studio page DOM to calculate live SEO scores in the browser. Some features, such as AI Optimize and Keyword Research, send the current video metadata to our servers when you explicitly click them.
When you visit the Analytics tab in YouTube Studio, the extension reads visible metrics (CTR, views, watch time, subscribers) from the page text to benchmark against your niche.
The extension reads your GetButlr authentication token from browser storage to authenticate API requests to getbutlr.ai. We do not access your YouTube or Google login credentials.
When you explicitly click "AI Optimize" or "Keyword Research," the extension sends your current video metadata to getbutlr.ai via encrypted HTTPS. This is opt-in per action. We do not automatically upload your video data.
GetButlr integrates with Google APIs (YouTube Data API v3 and Google Ads API) to provide core features. This section explains exactly what Google user data we access, how we use it, and with whom we share it — in compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We do not sell or rent Google user data to third parties. We do not share Google user data with any party except as strictly necessary to provide the Service, and only the minimum necessary data is shared:

We do not sell Google user data to any third party. We do not transfer or disclose Google user data to any party not listed above. We do not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the Service to you.
We request the following Google OAuth scopes. Each scope is necessary for a specific feature and we request only the minimum scopes required:
We do not request broader scopes such as youtube.force-ssl, userinfo.profile, userinfo.email, or openid because they exceed the access required for GetButlr's core functionality.
GetButlr's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use Google user data to provide the Service directly to you. We do not use Google user data for any other purpose, including advertising, profiling, or building user models for any purpose other than providing the Service.
Our website (getbutlr.ai) uses cookies for authentication and analytics. The Chrome extension itself does not set cookies.
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), access controls, and secure storage with Supabase.
Account information is retained while your account is active. Video metadata processed for AI optimization may be retained in your account history so you can access past suggestions, unless you delete that history or request deletion. Google account information and YouTube channel data are retained only while your GetButlr account is active and your Google connection remains linked.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us.
Our services are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
